Review of The Alpha's Justice by Michelle Fox

I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
Gretchen Halbmond is a daddy's girl. It's been just the two of them since she was little. So, when she find's out her dad has been attacked, she rushes back to her hometown. When the town sheriff doesn't seem to be in a big hurry to help her catch the stray that did this, she goes to the sheriff that monitors the strays. As soon as Talon sees Gretchen, he and his wolf both recognize her as his mate, something she flat-out rejects. The only problem is that she isn't reciprocating. Hopefully while he helps her solve the crime he can either convince her they are meant to be together.
Right from the beginning I really liked Gretchen. She is very spunky and determined. It's obvious that her dad (and cooking) means everything to her. During the book, she has to heal from the damage her mother made by deserting them both so that she and her wolf can accept Talon. The best way to describe Talon is that he's very much the (overworked) alpha male. From the beginning he doesn't really doubt his instincts about Gretchen even though her reactions have him questioning them.
I really loved this book. I gobbled it up rather quickly. It was a nice change to read a fated mate type of series and having one of the mates reject it in disbelief. I really liked the introduction to the side characters that work with Talon and look forward to seeing them again. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes this series.
