Review of Hot Alphas by Lora Leigh, Laurelin McGee, Shiloh Walker, and Kate Douglas

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review
Erin's Kiss by Lora Leigh
Erin is tending bar at The Broken Bar, a bar that is run by deep undercover CIA operatives and where the employees are mostly ex-military. She's under cover on assignment. Turk is an ex-military security guard at the bar. Erin can't get Turk out of her head. After he finally gives in to temptation, Erin's life becomes endangered. The only one she can turn to is Turk to protect and save her.
As with all of Lora Leigh's stories, this one is hawt with a great story in just a few pages. Erin is spunky and not afraid to go after what she wants, but Turk's resistance is almost enough for her to give up. Once Turk's walls are cracked, he is very protective of Erin. Once he's got his heart and mind in sync, there is no stopping him. 5 stars
misTaken by Laurelin McGee
Jaylene is a hard-core feminist who has a problem with finding a decent guy whose not a chauvinist. Because of her personality, she's often mistaken for being gay. When a new neighbor moves into her apartment community, she's drawn to him, but convinced he's hiding something. What she finds out just might make her have to change some of her theories.
This was my first time reading this author. The plot point of being a strong woman with so many different ideals these days and I liked how Jaylene grew through it and was able to adjust some of her thinking to find happiness. 4 stars
Burn For Me - Shiloh Walker
Take has had a friends with benefits relationship with Ali for 3 years. While his heart wants so much more, his head won't allow him to give her anymore than that. Ali is hopelessly in love with Tate, but her head can't take anymore of the heartache when he leaves or pretends they are still just friends. When she finally decides to give him an ultimatum, it nearly destroys them both. Hopefully he is able to overcome his anger and insecurities and fix all of the grief he has caused.
I really loved this story. I think that Shiloh Walker does an excellent job of writing great stories with seriously damaged men and women that want to save them. Can't wait to read more from her. 5 stars
Tangled by Kate Douglas
Nate is the new manager of Tangled Vineyards. He arrives late and meets the former vineyard owner (and current wine maker) Cassie. They enjoy an evening together and experience an undeniable connection. Afterwards, Cassie ignores Nate until she gives in to her own cravings to be near him. Slowly they start to form a real friendship. When a mysterious car starts showing up, Cassie and Nate try to figure out what the man is after as it starts to put Cassie in danger.
This is the first contemporary I've read by Kate Douglas. I thought it was well written and the story was enjoyable, especially for how many pages it was. 5 stars
Overall, this was an excellent anthology. Each story, though not very long, was complete with well definitions of each main character. I highly recommend it.
