Review of Undying Hunger by Jessica Lee

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** It's been a year since Alexandria was held captive and forced into the life of the undead. Yet when she thinks of Markus, the vampire that held her captive, it's not just anger she's feeling. Imprisoned at the Enclave, Markus is just waiting to die. When Alex comes demanding answers, his feelings for Alex make him want to live again. In his long, deadly life, she's the only one he's ever felt anything for. Now, she's the only one he wants to protect and live for. First off, BEST FIRST LINE IN A BOOK EVER!!!! This is the first story I've read from this author. I was totally engrossed in this story and once I started it, I just couldn't stop until I finished it. Even though I haven't read the first three books, obviously Markus was the enemy in at least two of them. I love it when an author can take a character that was so obviously bad and change him in such a way that you want him

Review of Last Alpha by Ruby Fielding - 4 Stars

Jenny Lane is a semi-successful werewolf story blogger who follows leads on the next story, looking for any kind of validation that they might be real. Her latest tip has landed her in the Highlands of Scotland. She arrives at the castle of billionaire Mr. Carr, a man who has hired a team of scientists to come up with a serum that will create werewolf shifters. While there, she runs in to Billy Stewart, a man she had seen in the Spring. Last time she had seen him, Billy's intensity and his feelings caused her to flee and avoid him. Eventually, being around him has reminded her how much she enjoyed being with him. This time, his intense feelings for her don't make her flee. As they grow closer, weird things start to happen. She's  not sure if she can trust Billy and crazy things he's telling her, but something inside her won't let her stay away. I found Jenny Lane to be a very interesting character. Many female characters in Paranormal books tend to have self-confid

Review of Moon Bayou by J.R. Rain - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Sam Moon went to New Orleans. She had been hired to find Wendy, a missing girl who originally went to New Orleans with Habitat For Humanity to help build homes. She had been missing 6 weeks. Wendy also had a missing roommate, Angela Jenkins. Sam is a vampire and a private investigator. Sam had been set up and taken by some bad vampires. Wendy had become a vessel to the vampires. Sam had been sent back in time by voodoo. Sam loved her kids and cared about her boyfriend Kingsly. She was physically and mentally strong. She had all the pluses of being a vampire, but managed to keep her humanity. When she was sent back in time, she was determined to get home no matter what. I enjoyed the plot, characters, twists and turns throughout the story. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes this genre.

Review of Bachelorette For Sale by Gale Chianese

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Cherry Ryan had put on a fundraiser that had taken the better part of a year. It was to help rebuild her neighborhood community center. Last Fall it had been ravaged by a hurricane. it had been a staple of Cherry's childhood. Cherry's best friend was Tawny Torres. Cherry had to take the place of a person who was sick and be bid on for a date. Cherry had been on a t.v. show Finding Mr. Right and had gotten hurt. Then she met Jason, who'd won the date though his friend had done the bidding. He owned a rehab company and wanted the contract for the community center. Cherry was someone, even after being hurt, that believed in love and marriage. She was caring and giving. She loved both her family and adopted family. She could be determined and through the twists and turns of this story, stood up for what she wanted and found love. Jason was a good man but had a lousy childhood. He was hardworking. He had been

Review of Mindhealer by Lilith Saintcrow - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Caro was a strong mindhealer going to Altamira. She specially trained the mindhealers and seers. Caro had been a foster kid who heard voices. Trev was Caro's little brother and wanted her to travel with a watcher. He was a light bringer, an air witch. Merrick was a watcher who saved Caro's life as she'd gotten lost and had been attacked. He then realized she was his witch. Humans and psychics were being attacked. That had started about 6 months ago. They were found mostly on the north side of town. There was a sense of something not right. Only mindhealers could smell that the air was fowl around someone that had been attacked. There had been 14 attacks, 8 victims were already dead. Having their own witch was the only way the watcher could make up whatever bloody acts or series of acts had tortured them into becoming something inhuman to atone for it. Caro was a mindhealer, very mentally and physically str

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Amy and Sam were in a disused pool. They'd been there 10-11 days. Amy was told that if she wanted to live she'd have to kill Sam and Sam is the one she loved. Sam knows they are now growing apart and soon either he or Amy would die. Jake was paid to beat HER in the BDSM scene. She accidentally dropped her ID. Her name was Helen and she was a policewoman. Helen hated Christmas but every year she bought for Amy and Marie. Helen had little to keep her home at night. She was a detective inspector. Mark was her detective sergeant and a talented cop. They had worked hard together for the last 5 years. Murder, child abduction, rape, and sex trafficking. She had come to rely on his dedication, intuition, and bravery. Divorce had taken it's toll on Mark and he had become erratic and unreliable. He often smelled of booze. Amy came out of the woods eventually. Helen headed the murder case of Sam. Amy told her what s

Review of Welcome to Temptation by Charlotte Hughes

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Michelle is stuck in Temptation, LA, trying to get her grandmother to leave with her as a hurricane is approaching. When she finally gives up, Sheriff Gator Landry shows up in his boat with another attempt at evacuation. Instead, they are all trapped in the house when the hurricane hits. This give both Gator and Michelle time to recall all the feelings they shared 16yrs earlier when Michelle spent a summer with her grandparents. As Michelle stays around for cleanup afterwards, they start to experience the same feelings as before. Michelle, not given the best example of a family, has done well at succeeding at a job she's always wanted and living a life she's happy with. She definitely cares for her grandma and is willing to do what she can for her. Gator is a fairly typical male. He was given a huge responsibility he didn't want, but in the end, he decided to step up to the plate. Having been hurt years b

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Rafe got a call from the police chief. Scotty Ferres was 24, engaged to be married, and dead. He was found on the dock near a chartered fisher boat, The Sea Scorpion, which was owned by Rafe. Scotty was part of Rafe's crew. Rafe was called to identify his body. Liv owned and ran the restaurant, The Pelican. Rafe was attracted to Liv and vise versa, but she was determined to keep her guard up. Liv was a caring, kind person. She had a lot of secrets but she had to keep them to survive. Liv is very mental strong, stubborn and determined at times, but after all the twists and turns of this story she finally found love. I liked her character a lot. Rafe was mentally and physically strong. He cared about the people he knew and he cared about his cr

Review of They Call Me Alexandra Gastone by T.A. Maclagan - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Melina was being transformed into Alexandra through learning her mannerisms and plastic surgery. She was to be a spy for her country. She was also beaten so it was believed that she had been in a car accident. She was to Albert Gastone's granddaughter. He was a member of the CIA, although he could retire. Alexandra, who was really Melina, now had a really great boyfriend and was popular. Melina was a caring person. Even though she was not supposed to, she formed ties. She also had kept her patriotism for her country until she found out that who had trained her wasn't who they portrayed to be. She also couldn't see Albert hurt. She grew through this story from the twists and turns. She even learned how to love again. I loved this story, but hope another book will be written to find out about her further adventures. I highly recommend it.

Review of Evil Games by Angela Marsons

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Kim Stone was an inspector detective. Bryant was an inspector sergeant, also Kim's partner and the closest thing she had to a friend. Kim had been a foster child. She had learned good things from them. Kim's twin brother Mikey had died at 6. She hates her mother. Kim had a horrible childhood and went from foster home to foster home. She pushed everything inside and did something with her life by becoming a cop. Kim was considerate and had a conscious. She was smart and very determined. When she decided something wasn't right she didn't let it go. She saw things to the end. Overall she did some growing. I enjoyed her character. I did enjoy the book. There were a lot of twists and turns. I'm not too sure how I feel about the ending, but I do recommend the book. Hopefully another will be written. It left you kind of hanging as far as I was concerned.

Review of Paris Time Capsule by Ella Carey

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Cat had been crazy about vintage clothes since her late teens. She had been with Christian for 2 years but still felt like she was on the outside. Christian loved to buy Cat clothes. Cat worked at a photography studio. Christian had come with friends to the studio, but Cat's equipment wouldn't work, so he flirted with her for a half hour. By the end of the evening he had asked her out. Virgina Brooke was Cat's maternal grandmother. Virginia had inherited an estate from the recently deceased Isabelle de Florian. With her grandmother and mom dying, Cat inherited the estate. Once in Paris, Cat finds out Isabelle had a daughter and grandson, Loic, that were still alive. Cat wanted to be accepted. She wanted a family, but also a happy family. Review of A Leopard's Path by Lia Davis

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Felix Darwin is Alpha of the Onyx Pack. Over 50% of his pack was destroyed. His daughter and most of the other survivors fled like traitors. The council of the elders had captured his mate and hid her from Felix for 200 years. Felix's mate Savannah was half dark witch and half leopard. She was the most powerful female Felix knew. Zorana's, or Ana, brother was Blaine, the Alpha of the Ashwood Falls pack. Luna had merged her wolf pack with the leopards over 30 years ago. Savannah was evil incarnate and with Felix by her side life on Earth would be horrible. Savannah was awake and Felix freed her. Ana's mate is Kieren and he was a trained spy. Ana still felt like an outsider but still helped the pack in any way she could. She loved her family and pack. Most of all, she loved Kieran but they both had walls to let down. She was loyal, kind and true. She was strong and a good person. I liked her character. Kier

Review of Color Me Crazy by Carol Pavliska

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Julian's sister's name is Addy and he had been embarrassing her in one way or another since the day he was born. Julian was a synesthete, someone who sees colors. Julian sees the colors from sounds. They weren't usually a problem unless he was stressed or exhausted. He was not the only one but he did seem to be the only one who needed to keep his colors separate. Julian was a musician and played guitar. He also wrote songs. Chloe was Addy's friend and had turned 30. She was a sucker for musicians. Julian owns a recording studio and usually has locals acts. He let Chloe move in her own apartment in the studio and hired her as his assistant. Chloe was a versatile person. She was smart and caring. She could be stubborn and determined. I loved her character through the twists and turns of this story. Julian had a uniqueness in him from his seeing in colors to his kindness. He feels like a freak and doesn&

Silzar believes someone is forcing the commission to combine their power to cast a spell. She wanted Cyn and Fallon to discover if this was true or not. Cyn had a love of history and he was to protect Fallon as well as decipher a fragile scroll. Cyn was a great leader. He loved his clan, his friends and his foster family. On her way to find him, she runs into Myles Emery, a music producer who wants to run an expose on her beloved grandmother. To make matters worse, she finds that her husband-to-be isn't meant to be. She ends up making a quick escape with the assistance of Myles. The chemistry between them is like nothing Lyndsey has never experienced. As he keeps on digging, he can't help but start feeling guilty as he gets closer to Lyndsey. I really enjoyed getting to know Lindsey as she moved towards a new appreciation of her family and a life she could have. Myles is very determined. He's on a mission to get his mother the recognition she doesn't want when his course leads him to Linsdey. During the course of the book, Myles goes through a bit of self-realization that helps him to grow and make

When Athena a Zeus give her an impossible task that with either get her killed or allow her to finally be a Siren, she has no choice but to take it. Aristokles is the rogue Argonaut that Daphne has been assigned to find, seduce and kill. After she meets him though, she begins to wonder if maybe she's been misled by some facts. She also can't deny the unbelievable pull between the two of them. Now she must try to help Ari before it's too late. Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology, so whenever I see it as a background of a story, I tend to start the book with a wince and a prayer that the author did the subject justice. Luckily, I wasn't disappointed with this author. I really liked the way she made it feel like it took place in that world. Even though it was a novella, the author gave a well-rounded sto

Review of Million Dollar Road by Amy Conner

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Lireinne worked at Savage Global Enterprises cleaning out alligator barns. Snowball was an 11ft alligator who Lireinne was always fascinated with because it was special. Con was Lireinbe's boss and almost hit her with his car. As a result, he was fascinated with her and promoted her as his personal assistant. Lireinne was a young woman who was down on her luck but didn't give up. She loved her family. She was determined and ambitious. She was lonely for most of her life and bullied. She had a lot of anger and pain inside. I enjoyed get character and journey. Con was a womanizer and a little arrogant but never mean or purposefully hurtful. He could be very single-minded and determined. He was also smart and mentally strong, even if he didn't know it. I also enjoyed his journey. This was a good story and plot. I recommend it.
