Review of Spider's Trap by Jennifer Estep - 4 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Gin Blanco is adjusting to being the top underworld boss in Ashland when someone seemingly tries to take a hit on her. As she digs further, it turns out she wasn’t the target although deep in her past she is intertwined with them. This was a really good book. It was full of action and plenty of characters that have been seen throughout the series. Enjoyable to current fans and anyone that is a fan of the urban fantasy books. Highly recommend.

Review of Fatal Pursuit by Elisabeth Naughton - 5 Stars

Marley Addison is fed up with being taken for granted at Aegis. At the end of another job that she’s not allowed to go into the field for, she’s ready to walk out. So when her presumed dead boyfriend from several years ago calls her and tells her he’s very much alive and in danger, she doesn’t hesitate to take the company plane to Columbia to rescue him. Jake Ryder, former Navy SEAL and Aegis CEO, knows Marley is mad at him. When he gets back to the office though, he’s surprised to find that she’s gone. His gut tells him that this is something bad and not just a hasty vacation. As soon as he has an idea of where she went, he takes off, determined to protect her at any cost. The first thing I have to say is that I wanted to smack Jake upside his head for being so bull headed. I could totally sympathize with his inner turmoil, but I found myself yelling at him a lot for the decisions he repeatedly kept making. Right from the bat I really liked Marley. She definitely seeme

Review of Truly, Madly...Deadly by Delilah Devlin - 4 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Darcy Henry is on a police special task force that specifically targets and exterminates vampires. On an OP, the newest vampire in question literally, and quite nakedly, falls right into her lap. Vampire Quentin Albermarle is in town looking for the same vampire that Darcy's task force is looking for. When he convinces them to take him to their captain, they strike a deal where everyone wins. Especially Quentin since his new primary target is Darcy. This story turned out not quite the way I expected, which was good. This is probably the first full story I've read from this author, so I was curious as to how it would be. At first, I thought Quentin was a bit pushy with Darcy, but as the story progressed you understood a bit more. Considering the love triangle, which caused some HAWT scenes, I really liked how the author handled it. Overall, really good story. I would recommend it to anyone that likes these gen

Review of Hot Summer Nights, Vol 2 by Multiple Authors - 4 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** First, from a woman who literally needed rescuing and the man she rescued to a woman who went to be tested for an ulcer because of the stress in her life and ending up with an engagement ring on her finger. To a couple working very hard to get out of debt and spending very little time together and the wife being the one that put them into debt, yet still loving each other and helping others. Some stories were really awesome and some were more on the good level. All of the stories were wroth reading. I highly recommend.

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Casey Edwards had been institutionalized for 10 years. She had no memory at all. Blake is a doctor. He said she was a unique case. He gave her a ride to Swan House where she was to live with her parents. Adam was her step-brother. Adam and Blake were friends. They had been since childhood. Blake wanted to help Casey regain her memory. Casey had no memory of what happened 10 years before. As time went on, pieces came back to her. Casey was brave. She was also compassionate, kind, sweet, and loyal. She was an excellent character, as were the rest of the characters in this book. This book had a great plot. It was an overall great book. I highly recommend.

Review of Dirt Daughter by Michele Shaw - 4 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Elena Black was 17. She had lied, but after 8 years, she wanted to tell the truth about her friend Lizzy's death when she was 9. Elena's Uncle Rick, who was also her step-father, was abusive. Elena met Chayton and had to keep her secrets even from him. Elena was in a no-win situation. She loved her mom and her little brother. She was responsible. She had plans for her life, but she also had a conscious. She was caring and kind when she could be. I liked her character. Chayton was a new kid in town and a senior. He liked Elena, even fell for her. He was kind, caring, funny, and sweet. I loved his character. The characters were all good. The story and overall book was good. I recommend.

Review of The Orion Mask by Greg Herren

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Heath snuck into his dad's home office and found his birth certificate. He found out that the woman who raised him was not his birth mother, whose name was Genevieve and he was born in New Orleans, not Florida, where he'd thought he'd lived his whole life. While waiting to go home from work at the airport, a man approached Heath. His name was Jerry. He wanted to talk to Heath about his birth mom. Also, in her death, she had been a painter. In her death notice, it listed her family members, people Heath had never heard of. They owned a plantation called Chamborb. Heath had always found solace in books, even at a young age. He had always wanted to be a write. Jerry offered to look at his work. Genevieve had killed herself when he was 3. Until then, he had lived in New Orleans. Heath was a good man. He worked so he could go to college. He loved the woman who had raised him. She would always be his mom. He wa

Review of Confessions of a Qeen B* by Crista McHugh - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Alexis Wyndah was not the popular Queen B. She had been the tease and butt of practical jokes through middle school. She had a younger sister named Taylor who was a cheerleader. She now had a blog called the Eastland Spy and it exposed everything from cheating to the nasty food served in the cafeteria. No one wanted to be the subject of her blog. Alexis' nemesis was Summer, head cheerleader and popular Queen B. Once upon a time, they were best friends, but that was before junior high. Her best friend now was Morgan. in a class project, Alexis was placed with Brett for two weeks. They were to be parents.  Alexis put on a facade to protect herself as she had been hurt before. She was a Queen B for protection, but she did stick up for the underdog. She was confident in many ways. She liked the status she set herself in until Brett. I loved her character. Brett was the golden boy of the school. He was sweet, conside

Review of Sinclair Justice by Colleen Shannon - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Mercy Rothchild was driving from Washington DC to Amarillo Texas. She had a new job as Historic Preservation Trust Officer, but she also had another mission. Her sister Yancy had been missing over 6 months and her niece Jennifer had been missing even longer. Mercy was arrested for going 50 miles above the speed limit on her way to Amarillo. The Texas Ranger who arrested her was the man she needed to persuade not to destroy two old buildings, Ross Sinclair. Mercy also hoped Ross would help do something about her sister and her niece. Mercy was a good person. She was caring and smart. When she loved someone there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them. She was daring and brave. She took a chance and did end up finding love. I truly liked her character in the twists and turns in this story. Ross was a good man. He was brave and strong, physically and mentally. He stuck to the law, which was his jo

Review of he Bad Nurse by Sheia Johnson - 3 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Billy Jr Shaw was thought to have died of a heart attack but it was found out six months later that it was murder. Karri Willoughbi was Billy's step-daughter. She had filed for bankruptcy more than once. She had been caught, in multiple occasions, on withdrawing funds out of the account of Billy's saddlery business and stealing her mom's identity. Karri had made the 911 call. She was eventually indited on the murder of Billy. The motive was financial. Kerri was a nurse and had been liked by a lot of people. She had two kids, 3 and 4yrs old. She had been a nurse for 10yrs, then fired for a mistake she had made. Karri had been an active blogger on going to jail during the 2 years going to trial. She became just as faithful on Facebook. The story was pretty good, as was the way it was presented. I thought it dragged some, but on the whole still a pretty good story.

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Kimber was 22 and had never had sex. Sammy was her best friend. Her boyfriend was Parker, who was Kimber's half brother. Jaxon is Sammy's twin. Kimber's mom was a cop. Kimber was an only child and in July she was supposed to go to NY as she had a job with her dad. Stanley had been flirting with Kimber, but Jaxon wanted her. She wanted Jaxon. Jaxon had a band named Negative Ion. Stanley was part of the band. The band felt that Jaxon wouldn't change for Kimber and Stanley could and would. Kimber told Sammy that maybe being with the ultimate bad boy was what she needed. Kimber was a smart and sweet person. She loved her family and friends. She was naive in a lot of ways. Through the twists and turns of this story, she grew. I loved her character for the most part. Jaxon was the perpetual bad boy. He was talented and artistic. He didn't usually show his feelings, but he did have them. I liked his char

Review of Haunted Echoes by Emma Bloom - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Abby was 14. Her dad died when she was 10. Voices seek Abby out a lot, especially at night. Abby was always tired. Abby also occasionally saw ghosts. There was a brat pack at her school that loved to abuse Abby. They were Meghan, Laural, and Kristen. They were in the 11th grade and Abby was in the 9th. Abby was so tired from hearing voices and lack of sleep, she took her mom's sleeping pills. She just wanted to sleep and she ended up in the psych ward. Abby had two tormenters, the brat pack and the voices. She tried to be strong but couldn't. She was afraid. She had only person to turn to, which was her grandmother, and she passed away. This is a girl's journey to learning about herself and her gift. Fantastic characters, plot and overall plot. I highly recommend it.

Review of The Art of Sinning by Sabrina Jeffries

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Jeremy Keane is known around London for his eclectic art pieces and for being an American rake. When he’s forced to attend a wedding party, he sees a woman he must have as the muse for his next piece. When she turns out to be the sister of a gentleman he was just discussing the trouble with having a sister, he agrees to paint her portrait against his own wishes so he can paint her the way he really wants to. Lady Yvette Barlow doesn’t exactly fit in society’s utmost standards. Her family has already been scandalized by one of her brothers, she’s too tall and curvy, and not to mention she has the oddest hobby. When she meets Jeremy Keane, she can’t help but feel the attraction.  Her problem is that he doesn’t seem to be nearly as affected… Yvette reminded me of Elizabeth Bennett’s character from Pride and Prejudice to a point. She’s quick-witted, is resolved to not marry for anything less than love, stubborn, a

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Natalie has been a vampire for three years. After being betrayed by her ex-husband to a cult that wanted to kill her (and thus her getting changed into a vampire), she’s in no rush to jump back into the dating pool. So why are ghosts suddenly appearing, ready to sweep her off her feet? Matthew is a powerful psychic who has just relocated to Broken Heart  to escape a legacy and to start over. When he sees Natalie being attacked by a ghost cow, he can’t get her off his mind. This book was enjoyable right from the beginning. The instant chemistry between the two characters worked so well that I bought into it right from the beginning. I found Natalie to be independent and determined to raise her daughter the best way possible while attempting to keep “Cool Mom” status. This was definitely a character I could relate to (without the blood diet of course). Matthew seemed to be more of a rescue the lady and follow yo

Review of Shroud of Roses: A Cornwall and Redfern Mystery by Gloria Ferris - 4 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Neil Redfern was a police chief. His girlfriend's name was Bliss. Fang Davidson and Larry Cutler bought the right to salvage Lockport High School before it was demolished. In the girls' locker room was a full skeleton. Bliss wanted to help with the investigation especially as more murders were happening. Neil was a cop who came from a small town to see all he hadn't seen by not being in a big city and to also get over the loss of his wife. He was a nice man. He cared a lot for Bliss. He was smart and mentally and physically strong. He was protective. He was everything a good cop should be. I liked his character. Bliss was nosy. When she got it in her head to do something she did it even though it might not have been the smartest or best thing to do. She could be pushy, determined and even stubborn, but never intending to hurt anyone by trying to help her man find answers. I really enjoyed her character. T

Review of Alive: Book One of the Generations Trilogy by Scott Sigler - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Em wakes up in a coffin, strapped and barred in. She breaks free and finds 11 other coffins in the room. She hears a girl scream in one of the coffins and helps her get out. They find four more living people among the other 10 coffins. They realized they were all hungry. With no food in the room, they leave and go down a hall. They decided Em would lead since she got herself out and helped the others. Em was scared but still decided to lead. She knew inside herself it was the right thing to do. She was a person of action, when tough decisions had to be made she made them, even if it angered the others. She was mentally strong and determined. She did what she had to do to make her people survive. I was surprised how much I liked this story. It's not really something I'd usually read but I couldn't put it down. The characters were great as was the plot and overall story. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys

Cameron had just inherited the castle he didn't have the money to fix. It didn't appear on any maps and there was no historical documentation. Milly was to stay at the castle for one week. Milly worked for Castle Heritage. She was to assess the historical value of the castle. Cameron had been hurt by gold diggers, although he was attracted to Milly, but he didn't want anything to happen. Milly was also attracted to Cameron but she had been hurt. Milly was a quirky person. She loved her Disney movies as that was the only happily ever after she thought she'd ever see. She was sweet and kind. She was intelligent, loyal and honest. Through the twists and turns of this story, she found her happily ever after and then some. I really loved her character. Cameron was a writer so he was creative. He ha

Review of Chasing Each Other by J.D. Riviera - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Miranda was 19. Her ex-boyfriend changed her from a party girl to a broken person in one year. She had been doing coke when she was with him but had gotten clean. Her best friend was Mackenzie. Miranda likes Brad. He's a homicide detective. He likes her, but he's 28 and feels he's too old for Miranda. Miranda's ex-boyfriend had really made her believe she was worthless except to go to bed with. She was really unsure of herself and believed nobody would love her, especially since she was a former addict. Through the twists and turns of this story, she does find love. Brad is a cop who spends too much time at his job. He can be kind and sweet. He loves his family. He wants Miranda but tries to stay away from her. By the end of the story, he too finds love. I loved the story. I loved the plot and characters and enjoyed rooting them on. I highly recommend this story to anyone that likes this genre.

Review of The Rest of My Life by Sheryl Browne - 5 Stars!!

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Adam slept with Lisa, who was a married woman. Nathanial was Adam's only friend. Nathanial was the marina's manager. Sienna is renting a cottage with her best friend Lauren. Sienna had to re-edit her romance script. Sienna wasn't sure if she believed that love conquered all anymore. Even though he was a womanizer, Sienna was attracted to Adam. He was also attracted to her, but knew he should stay away. Sienna was naive as far as passionate experiences went and her ex-boyfriend made her question whether or not she was frigid. She was a kind, warm and loving person trying to get a little breathing room from her dad. She loved her dad and even understood.  I really loved her character and her defending of those she cared for. Adam had been messed up from a previous relationship and saw his ex-fiance's ghost a lot. He had affairs to take away the pain and loneliness and drank for the same reason. Howeve

Review of Rainy Day Women by Kay Kendall

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Austin's son's name is Wyatt and her husband's name is David. Her best friend Larissa called, saying she was in trouble. She was the prime suspect for a murder. Austin finally got David to agree to go to Larissa and take Wyatt with her. Larissa had been close to Shona, who had been poisoned. Austin had promised she wouldn't get involved in the investigation, but she wasn't the type to sit back and do nothing. Austin was a stubborn and determined woman, yet she was fairly naive with life and the ugliness of it. Her mom had been determined to protect her. She cared about her family and the people she considered her second family. She was a good woman. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this story. It had a good plot and good characters. I recommend this book to anyone that likes this genre.

Review of Undercover Empath: Kindred Demon by RaShelle Workman - 5 Stars

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Lola was a stripper. Her real name was Leslie. He drugged her and took her from the strip club. The demon knew she'd only been in the area a short time. Demons had all the wrong wicked desires humans did, but without a body they couldn't act on them. Rose Hansen was a detective at the age of 19. Jack was her ex-boyfriend and partner. She lost her mom during her formative years. A man knocked on her door, no shoes or shirt, had a manilla envelope for her, and told her he knew she needed to know who murdered her parents. Rose was very very naive in a lot of ways, but a very dedicated person. She could be determined. She didn't really have anybody there for her. She grew through the twists and turns of this story. I loved the characters, story and plot, but the story finished way too soon. I truly hope this story is continued in another book. I would definitely read it. I highly recommend to anyone that like

Unfortunately, she’s not the only one that found out the witness’s location. Travis Barnett is a former Navy SEAL who runs his own security company. He’s hired by a friend of his in the FBI to go get the witness and bring him back to Seattle before he’s killed. When they meet each other on the flight to a tiny town in the middle of Alaska, the attraction is definitely there, but they’re both determined to ignore it so they can deal with their personal tasks at hand. While hiking around in the wilderness looking for the witness, they each come clean as to why they are there, just as it becomes evident that they aren’t the only ones and for some reason, the killer has taken a personal interest in Grace. Review of SEAL Wolf Hunting by Terry Spear

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Paul and his best friend are home on leave from their SEAL missions. While home, Paul is determined that Lori, a she-wolf he’s been wanting for a long time, isn’t able to hide away from him like she did the last 2 years. Lori wants Paul just as much, but refuses to fully commit while  he’s still actively going on missions. She wants him to step up and take his parents’  place as alpha of their fledgling pack. When trouble keeps popping up, Paul starts to come around to the idea that maybe it is time for him to stay at home and strengthen their pack as well as claim his mate. I find that with this particular author, her books are a hit and miss. Either I really like them or not really. Unfortunately this one fell more towards the not really category. The overall plot was really good and I read other books this series that were really good, so it was nice for those characters to make an appearance. Unfortunately th

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Tegan Harper had lost her parents and went to live with her grandparents' best friend, Mrs. Marks. Tegan found another child lived at the house even though he was a little older. His name Kane. He helped her through the first night at the house. Mrs. Marks loved mysteries and who-done-its and they played a monthly game of Clue at the library. As time went by, Tegan grew to love Kane, not only as her friend but also as an ever after. Then came the time he declared his love for her. Tegan had a tough break losing her parents but then found a new family. It was so empowering to watch her grow and so realistic, as if she was someone I knew and was remembering her story. The same with Kane. Their journey was so sweet and yet tortured in places that you wanted to root them on. I couldn't stop reading. It was an awesome plot and story. They were absolutely stupendous characters. I highly recommend this story.

Review of A Dream Called Marilyn by Mercedes King

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Charles Campbell was a psychiatrist and had been infatuated with Marilyn Monroe. He was to meet her right in his office. Marilyn was already a movie star. She seemed to be able to stir a man's desires and make you fall in love with her. The studio felt that Marilyn was in desperate need of his services. He had already treated several actors and actresses. Charles felt Marilyn was luminous, electrifying and infuriating. Charles was a man who was not happy in his marriage even though he tried to keep it together. He loved his daughters. He thought he could put his infatuation aside and really help Marilyn, but she ruled his sessions right from the start. He never really had control. Even though he had treated other stars, soon after meeting Marilyn he became obsessed with her. It was really hard to critique this as in a lot of ways, it was believable. So many factors made the outlook of this book. I read it all in
