Review of Give Up The Ghost by Kelly Moran

Kerry and Paul have been working together on the paranormal show Phantoms for the past 6 years. They are best friends. Paul is there for Kerry and she looks out for him. The only problem is that Paul has been hiding the fact that he's been in love her since the day they met. After seeing her doppelganger scares the daylights out of Kerry, she calls Paul and he rushes to her aid. After this incident, Kerry starts to notice Paul as a man. During their next taping Paul takes advantage of this to pursue her. While trying to figure out the meaning of her doppelganger and this haunting, Kerry struggles to sort out her feelings for Paul. Kerry is a very giving person. She is emphatic towards everyone's feelings, even the ghosts she chases. The sudden realization of her non-plutonic feelings towards Paul really throw her for a loop as she also finds a completeness in them. Paul has basically dedicated his life to Kerry. He's very smart and has an insecurity when it comes to women

Review of Finally His Bride by Maisey Yates

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Luke's ex-best friend and business partner Becket Larson had made Luke's little sister Kaitlin pregnant. Luke had spent his entire life protecting her. Also Luke had accused Becket of theft. He was the only one with access to all the stuff in Shuller Automotive. Luke felt like a fool for trusting him. Melanie Richards was 28 and was the only friend Luke felt he had in the whole world. Melanie was damaged as she'd had an abusive father. He found Melanie in a bar, threw her over his shoulder, and took her out of the bar. Melanie had deep feelings for Luke and wanted to finally move on. Luke had told his parents he and Melanie were dating. Luke was the only man that made Melanie feel safe. Luke could be intense and single-minded. He tried to control everything since he had no control over his brain. He grew in this story and I enjoyed his journey. Melanie was a kind, caring, loyal and sweet person. She had s

Review of Bound to the Sheikh by Carol Marinelli

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Sheikh Ashin Al Raquar was Crown Prince of Alzaquan. Emily and Cathy had completed their flight attendant academy together 10yrs ago. Emily was now a widow. Cathy worked for an acclaimed private jet operator. Emily usually avoided the beach. Emily had lost herself and didn't know where to find herself again. Stephan had been her husband and her first and only lover. Emily was a strong woman, stayed true to her husband even when he ended up with the brain of a child. She was true. I enjoyed the portrayal of her character. Ashin was arrogant to a degree. He had plans for his country and he would be a good ruler. Yet he took a stand and won in the end. This was a good book. I enjoyed the plot and story. It was very enjoyable. I recommend it.

Together they planned on going to some strip clubs and partying. Milicent Ivy was an aerobics teacher. She worked at the Atlanta Rec Center. Klaus was a member and asked her if she wanted to hang out with him. When she said no, he went after her when she was heading to her car. Salem Reid saw Klaus grab her and stepped in to help her. Salem didn't like bullies. Joey and Salem had been friends in high school. He called Salem to help him when he woke up in a hotel with little memory of what happened. When they got to Joey's house, they found a dead woman who was a stripper named Velvet and Salem recognized her. He was determined to find out what happened to Velvet (or Sarah as he knew her). Salem was a decent guy. He was physically and mentally strong. He could be sweet and he could be v

witches be burned **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Kyden had teleported from the Other World to the large Earth. Other World was a planet as small as Vatican City and a population of 800. Nighttime, when humans slept, the Council's Guard hunted killers on Earth. Alazar was an athletic tracker who was also a werewolf. Kyden speaks to Alazar, then Detective Myles, who was a vampire. Each member of the Council's Guard played an important role: werewolves, with the heightened sense of smell, could track killers, vampires could glamour minds, witches could use magic. Nexi, who was a witch and new to her powers, had one flaw. She put others' safety before her own. Lazarus was a vampire who wanted to go back to the old ways. He killed Nexi's mother for the power in her blood, then he decided to return for Nexi. He and his werewolves had almost killed Nexi and Kyden. Nexi was a spirit witch blessed with all four elements. Review of Love Beyond Sanity (The Outsiders 2) by Rebecca Royce

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Dr. Jason Randall believes in facts and science. When he was 12, he made a decision to stop dreaming of the girl on the hill as there was no place in his life for fantasies. Now at almost 30, he's stuck inside his head with something evil he thinks is another figment of his imagination. When the now full grown version of his 12yr old friend also appears, he thinks his brain is working overtime and refuses to believe her when she tells him she's real. Charma is one of 18 of a special race called Outsiders. When she was young, she dreamed of her other half, her perfect mate and couldn't wait to find him. When she was 12, he disappeared from her dreams. Thinking the evil demons found and killed him, she mourned the loss. When she and another Outsider find Jason in a coma, she can't believe he's still alive. When she uses her powers to try to get him out of his coma, she gets trapped in his head and i

Review of Love Beyond Time (The Outsiders 1) by Rebecca Royce

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Kal is one of 18 of what's left of a special race called Outsiders. Somewhere in the world is his perfect other half. He wasn't sure if or when he would find her, but when she literally runs into his arms, he'll do what he can to keep her there and protect her as she adjusts to everything that is happening. Isabella is stunned when it seems the man of her dreams is real and what he has to tell her makes her want to run and hide. Kal was raised with two of the other Outsiders by a former Outsider warrior, preparing for their destiny. Even with the makeshift family, Kal has always felt kind separate from the rest. He feels he's not worthy of having a destined mate. Once he finds Isabella, he starts to realize his value and is able to really reach his full potential. While Isabelle doesn't know anything about being an Outsider, she instinctively knows she is meant to be with Kal. Being with him allows

Review of Dearest Rogue by Elizabeth Hoyt

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Lady Phoebe Batten is a powerful duke's sister and is blind. She yearns to have a "normal" life. Unfortunately, both stop her from having one. Captain James Trevillion is a former King's dragoon. He has brooding, serious and has a permanently injured leg, forcing his early retirement. He was hired by Phoebe's brother as her personal guard. When several kidnapping attempts are made, James takes Phoebe somewhere safe where not even her brother can find her. When they come back, they both will have lost their hearts. This is the first book I've read from this author and having just come from reading a bad historical novel, I was a little skeptical. However, once I started reading it, I had a hard time putting it down when I was forced to go to work. Phoebe, not having been born blind, is forced to become strong in a way most people can't imagine. She guides herself through scen

People in Madalina's family and friends usually felt she was a pessimist and skeptic. Madalina and Lianne, her best friend and partner, co-owned a little clothing boutique in LA. A man she had nicknamed as The Grouch had been at her side at the roulette wheel. An Asian man came up to her and told her she had an upgrade to her room. Then another Asian man was at her side as they led her to the outside. A third man appeared and tried to force her into a waiting car. The Grouch came up and hit one of the men, but she was still pushed into the car but managed to get out the other side. The Grouch told her to run. She ran to his car and they left. His name was Cole West and he was going to take her back to LA where he was going to protect her. I found Madalina to be a loyal person. She loves her parents and f

It's known as the most lethal of such organizations. Nash almost killed Tobias's baby sister Beth through torture. Chandler McCallister was in Tobias's way to the people who almost killed Beth. Chandler called Tobias "Toby" and he wasn't the type you gave a nickname to. Tobias worked with the movers and shakers and policy-makers on Capital Hill. chaos and moonlight **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Morgan, when she made a demand, it was met. Wherever she went, there was a path of destruction, carnage and blood. It was her calling card and trademark. Morgan wants her kind to rule the planet. She felt that humans were the bottom of the food chain. Taris had been preparing Hayley for the change, but it still killed her. They were trying to keep their race from extinction. Hayley had come up with the immunity theory in the first place. Taris had found Hayley on the streets 10yrs ago. She was only 13. The human immunity system was rejecting the change. Finding the cure is the only way a vampire mother can have a vampire child. This book was too slow moving. It couldn't keep my interest. It kept jumping to different people. Made it really hard to finish.

Review of Once Upon a SEAL by S.M. Butler

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Maddie Benson's entire life has been focused around the small town of Sugar Falls. When she makes a home delivery to the one person in town she doesn't know, she can't help but be curious and pulled to him, regardless of the fact that he was rude and she didn't even see him. Sebastian McIntyre is a former Navy SEAL. He was forced into early retirement and into self-reclusion. Maddy is the first person he's "met" in years that's made him want to reach out to another human being besides his sister. Maddy decides to take him his weekly deliveries and a bond is formed even though a wall separates them. Will Maddy ever get Bastion to trust enough in her to let her see him? Maddy is a pretty typical small town girl. She's bright, curious, bubbly and even stereotypically blond. Normally I don't really care for those types of characters, but in this case she is exactly w

The only one she can turn to is Turk to protect and save her. As with all of Lora Leigh's stories, this one is hawt with a great story in just a few pages. Erin is spunky and not afraid to go after what she wants, but Turk's resistance is almost enough for her to give up. Once Turk's walls are cracked, he is very protective of Erin. Review of Once Pure by Cecy Robson

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review This is the third book in the Shattered Past trilogy. We finally get Sofia's tragic story. Because of everything that has happened to her, Sofia is still very damaged and is trying hard to get through her past so she can live without terror. Killian was one of her oldest friends and she had loved him for years. She now has an opportunity to get close to him again as she works on his fight club's website. Being around Sofia makes Killian extra protective and extra crazy about her. He has the patience if she's willing to try. The problem is getting through the pain of their pasts to see if they can have a future together. This story was so tragically beautiful. It was written just as well as the other stories and yet just as unique. In the beginning of the story (and actually the entire series), Sofia is a broken church mouse terrified of her own shadow because of her past. Because of Killian and

As soon as Talon sees Gretchen, he and his wolf both recognize her as his mate, something she flat-out rejects. The only problem is that she isn't reciprocating. Hopefully while he helps her solve the crime he can either convince her they are meant to be together. Right from the beginning I really liked Gretchen. She is very spunky and determined. It's obvious that her dad (and cooking) means everything to her. During the book, she has to heal from the damage her mother made by deserting them both so that she and her wolf can accept Talon. The best way to describe Talon is that h

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Matt decided he needed a break from his current life, so he quit his job and decided to take a vacation in the home his grandparents used to own on the Jersey Coast. The only thing missing is his old best friend Katie from when he was a kid. After he gets himself reacquainted with his grandparents' old home and heads to the beach, the neighbor runs to him and gives him a hug. It turns out to be Katie and she's all grown up. Katie, now widowed, lives in her childhood home on the Jersey Coast. She likes how her life is finally settling down. When her new Summer neighbor turns out to be Matt, her old friend, her childhood crush comes back in full force. Is she really healed from her husband's death to fully move on? I really liked Matt. He's coming off from being a workaholic, is learning to find himself and enjoy a simpler time in his life. He's very determined in what he wants, including convincing

Review of The Duke's Disaster by Grace Burrowes

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Noah Winter, The Duke of Anselm, is in need of a wife. When the lady he is courting decides to accept the proposal of someone else, he decides to ask her companion to be his wife. Lady Thea Collins might be a companion but she was raised a lady before she decided to take a job as a companion. Noah thinks she'll work out perfectly. Lady Thea, eventually accepts so that her younger sister will be secured. The only problem is that she has a secret that could ruin their marriage before it even begins. Aside from his outward appearance of being pragmatic and self described not nice, like Mr. Darcy from P&P, Noah is much different when he's around family and when he's alone with Thea. Even when he is furious over her secret, he can't help but want to get to know her better and to help her any way he can, even if he does tend to run off a bit at first. Thea is another example of females in this time peri

13 men had been slayed and many more were out there, but only one can be proven that Cara did it. The whole case rested on a 16yr old prostitute's testimony, who also happens to be a meth addict and pathological liar and refuses to give her real name. Cara's lawyer is Julia Molina. Julia wanted to know what Roarke wanted from Cara. He wanted to understand her. Roarke sees Cara's cousin Erin and she's not doing well at all. Roarke asked Rachel (a social worker) to go with him to talk to Erin. Rachel stays and tells Roarke to go. Rachel ran a halfway house. Rachel calls Roarke and lets him know Jade has taken off from the house. Then there was another pimp murdered with his throat slashed. The Tenderloin was San Fransisco's famous sex district and it consisted of 50 square blocks. Roarke and Epps may have done the murder. Cara is released on bail. Cara is very methodical, but she never hurt anyone that was good. She was smart and good at disguising herself. She turne

Charlie is a Navy SEAL whose team is on leave because of something he and his brother Willy did. During this time he's been building and playing online games and forming an attachment to one particular person, Hot Girl. Unfortunately, he's yet to get her to meet him in the real world. Amber is a hacker trying to find a legitimate job. When she's promised one at a major game company if she can perform one final hack, she jumps at the chance. Turns out, the job offer was bogus in order to get her to hack into something that makes her a traitor to her country. Now she's running for her life. When her dad arranges a group to help her, she can't help but notice that one of them has a VERY familiar voice. Now she must convince them that she's not really a traitor. I can't help but express how much I really liked these two characters. While many of Amber's antics were more youthful rebellion, you can't help but feel sorry for her. She's very smart and

Against the wishes of her friends and family, Kris Edwards decided to take a year off of school before starting college. She and her friends are spending the Summer at Corpus Christi, where she plans on spending her year off. While there, she meets Jericho, a surfer who won't give up no matter how many times she turns him down. When she finally relents and starts to date him, she feels very much at peace as they start to connect. However, she feels there's definitely much more to him than he will admit. She's just not sure if that's good or bad. Overall, I liked the characters of this story. It was mostly in Kris's POV, but the snippets in Jericho's are what kept me reading. His POV let you know there was definitely something big going on while he's determined to show Kris that she's the one he's been waiting for for years. The story itself is very slow moving. Nothing really happens until close to the ends. Then it kind of cuts off and you are left

Review of I Choose You by Kristina O'Grady

Helga Hanson is having a bad month. She and her boyfriend recently broke up after he was cheating on  her, her last two movies flopped, and her agent hasn't bothered to help her find anything to improve her career. When she gets a call from a big-time movie producer, she jumps at the chance even though it's unlike anything she's ever been in. She decides to head to the movie location early to have some private time to prepare. Ben Copeland is the son of the owner of the ranch where the filming will take place and brother to the B&B that Helga will be staying at. Upon first running into each other, sparks fly with an instant attraction. Unfortunately, Ben seems to believe in the hype and have little faith in her as a person. This story wasn't that bad. There wasn't a lot for big plot points and it was fairly predictable. I found Helga a little too good to be true as a big-time Hollywood actress, a bit too down to earth. In each situation that Ben believes everyt

She has one with Tyler. They have basically seen him every day for three months. Pyper was being featured as an artist in an art show. The theme was ribbons and lace. Pyper's thing was dressing fabulously. There was no place better than Ruby's to find unique things. Pyper developed the ability to see and hear ghosts. One of her guides was a sweet old lady called Tru and another called Lily. They helped her to communicate with another spirit she couldn't reach on her own and to help answer questions. Pyper had many friends, she just had a hard time letting them close to her. Jade was an empath with empathic abilities. Cain wrote an article for a special New Orleans edition of Favorite Haunts magazine. They wanted great eateries that had ghost sightings. He submitted his article and Pyper&#

Ian Stuart is a special agent. He's been guarding dignitaries. Now has to guard the Crown Princess Sofia of Aubonne who he had been in love with 8 years earlier, until her mother showed up and pointed out Sofia's duty. Then Ian broke it off. Sofia's older brother had been killed by a rebel faction, which left Sofia the heir to the throne. Ian headed a squad of counter-terrorism specialists. Seeing Ian again had reminded Sofia what it was like to be so in love that it hurt. Sofia's family had been attacked on the way through the mountains and her younger sister was hurt. Ian was to take Sofia out of hotel. He decided to take her to his family's place on Shelter Island. Sofia was more naturally emotional than the rest of her family. Sofia still felt easy with Ian, even though he had broken her heart.Ian felt Sofia's voice was music and always loved to hear her talk. Sofia was a princess, but she had plenty of grit. She had become independent to a degree. I found

Lina was a psychic. During a storm, Frank, an old man whose glasses fell off, got his glasses broken and Lina offers to help him get home. So much of her work involves death and violence that it was nice to help Frank. Lina had helped with 188 cases. Lina also has clients that she sees twice a year so they don't get addicted to finding out their future. She does about 20 sessions a year. Lina's sister Elyse calls. Her husband was murdered. They had an 8yr old son named Nick that was Lina's Godson. He had been shot in the back by the Hail Mary shooter. Bill was the 5th victim. All murders take place the last Friday of the month. Nicky is also gifted and already knows it. Lina saves Nicky's life but gets hurt and loses her psychic ability. She learned to depend on herself and not her talent to find out what happene

Kory MCCalister was going to see Stone Boronan. He was her dream guy. She had a fear of needles, but had been pierced many times by Stone. The first time she went to the shop was two years ago. Stone was co-owner of the tattoo shop, The Iron Maiden. Kory often felt she didn't belong anywhere on the planet. Kory and her friends Lacy and Tina met every Wednesday at noon at the Main Street Cafe. Her friends push Kory to ask Stone out. She finally does and they go have pizza together. Stone asked Kory if she trusted him to give her a tattoo and she lets him. Kory had a really bad childhood. She thought she had gotten through everything but... Stone also had a bad childhood, but he also had secrets, one he kept so people would like him for himself. He was leery of people, yet he was caring,

Cain owed Mug two months' rent. He gave Cain until Friday. Cain's girlfriend is Liv. Cain worked with Tomcat whenever he got the chance. Cain's dad had been murdered and Liv and Cain had seen 3 guys running from the burning house. The cops caught 2 of the 3 and they saw the LA Boom Slangs tattoo. Digger is the international President of the Noir et Blue Motorcycle Club. He had been one of Cain's dad's best friends since they were kids. Tomcat and Cain and the rest of the group were fixing a video shoot for a pop star named Lincoln Todd. Cain's best friend back home said he had seen Liv out with another guy. Cain didn't want to believe she was cheating, but online pics confirmed she was getting cozy with him. Lincoln looked like she could use a friend and Cain felt bad for her. He ended up letting her stay at Mug's with him (he slept on the floor). Lincoln spent her best day ever with Cain. Lincoln is a very insecure person, never making her own decision

Review of The Consequence of Loving Colton by Rachel Van Dyken

Image
Milo is finishing up her degree at NYU. She comes home for the weekend for her older brother's wedding. The first person she sees is Colton, the boy next door that she's been in love with for as long as she can remember. The problem? He don't look past the fact that she's not a little girl anymore. Enter best friend Max to help change that. Hilarity ensues. I think the best way I can describe this book is a screwball comedy with a heavy dose of boy next door finally gets the girl next door. While not a heavy plot and no real conflict, this book is really good as long as you take it as such. It's one of those books where, if you have a family like mine, you can say "I can totally picture that happening if I was trying to put on a wedding". All of the characters and their interactions, especially Max and Grandma, are just hilarious. I recommend this book to anyone that just liked a cute book that will make you laugh. I look forward to reading more from this

Tyler is enjoying life s a 24yr old. He's young, enjoys working on a farm, participating at rodeos, and just having fun. Janie is just the opposite. She's a 36yr old widow trying to run her own farm. A chance meeting after a stupid stunt reminds Janie she's not dead and has Tyler thinking about a change in his lifestyle. This is the first book I've read by this author even though I've heard of her for awhile. As I was reading the book and deciding how I felt about it since it's a genre I don't read very often, I decided what I really liked was the characters. The plot was fairly basic with no real shocks or conflicts, but the characters were real (and not really young except for Tyler). Tyler is like most every young guy you are going to find in the Mid-West, a good 'ole boy just enjoying life until he finds the one that makes him want more. Janie is someone I can really feel for. Having been a 36yr old widow, I can say that everything she was going thr
