Review of Jaded by Verina Denman

Ruth is a 20yr old that has two jobs: part time at the United Grocery Store and full-time attendance clerk at the high school. Her cousin was John-Scott. He's the head coach of the high school football team. Grady's the new kid, a senior from Fort Worth. Ruth seemed to be the town's matchmaking project and the United Grocery served as the town gossip. Grady's older brother, Dodd, made a three-year commitment to preach part-time at the Trapp Congregation Church. Ruth and her mom had been kicked out of the church whereas John-Scott told Ruth that the Cunninghams and the Church of God were important to him. Dodd couldn't believe that Linda, Ruth's mother, had been kicked out of the church. After Ruth's interactions with the Cunninghams, she was confused about them and God.
Ruth was a good girl, hard working, but filled with bitterness and hurt from how she was treated by the people of the church and her mom. She also loves her mom and cares for her. Dodd was a man of God, very loyal and caring. He took care of his family and saw good in everyone. I enjoyed reading this but it moved slowly.
