Review of The Desert Sheikh by Katheryn Lane

The Desert Sheikh (Desert Sheikh, #1-3)

In the first book, Sarah Greenwich is a doctor who worked at Woman's Hospital. Sheikh Akbar Al Zafir is the ruler over Sakara, the most remote part of the Arabian Peninsula. Sarah is kidnapped in the belief that she is the British Ambassador's wife, Lady Amanda Bolton. The Sheikh's niece Minna (daughter of his deceased brother) was to look after Sarah. The Sheikh found out through a newspaper that she is actually a doctor and not the ambassador's wife. The Sheikh's mom had a badly infected sore on her leg. Sarah wrote down what they needed to get to help his mom so his men went and got it.
In the second part, Sarah marries the Sheikh. She loves him dearly but misses being a doctor. When she goes back to the hospital, she finds out she needs written permission from her husband to work and she has been replaced. She can't get work anywhere in the capital. The Sheikh refuses to write the letter, so she gets fed up, leaving him and returns to England.
In the third book, we find Sarah has a son of about 10yrs old and is struggling to pay all of the bills. One day Akbar shows up at her door, finding out that her son is also his. He's extremely happy to find out he has a son but wants to know why she didn't tell him. Sarah finds out that when she lived with him, he had been illiterate. Things fall into place.
I recommend the three books together. I enjoyed reading the books. One fell right into the next.
