Review: Hidden Scars
Hidden Scars by A.M. Myers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Emma's last relationship left her a shell of her former self. The only life she has left consists of tending bar. Once day she decides to get a tattoo to make sure she never forgets what she went through and to move on. Then she meets Phoenix "Nix" West, the tattoo artist and nephew of her boss and family friend. As soon as Nix sees Emma, he can't stop thinking about her. He can tell she has hidden scars, but he's determined to help her through and win her heart. Unfortunately, with Nix's appearance in her life, her nightmare also resurfaces.
Overall, this was a really good book. The author starts you at the beginning of Emma's road to recovery, allowing you to following through as she finds herself and makes Nix the number one wanted book boyfriend. There were flashback chapters that showed you exactly what happened to her as she tries to move on even when she didn't have the voice to tell those who loved her.
Really good book, I highly recommend it, although a little bit of caution as the flashbacks are dark.
