Melany Jacoby, the Muse of Tragic Poetry, came home from work and found her roommate dead. Detective Nate Malone responded to a call about the death. From the moment he got there and met Melany, he wanted nothing more than to protect her. He also started seeing weird visions that might make her argument on how her roommate died believable.
Being a fan of this author, I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. My love of Greek mythology being used by one of my favorite authors made this a must read. I was very happy that she didn’t disappoint. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. Following Nate as he learns about Melany’s world and what he’s meant to do kept me completely pulled in. I loved both main characters and can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend.

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Maddy was dating an angel, MJ. MJ is a protector who has broken a lot of rules, but some he had to keep. MJ told Maddy she was his heart and he would fight before he would let anyone take her. Maddy had some special powers of her own. The characters were good, especially Maddy, who was overwhelmed with powers she couldn't control and the love she couldn't state and MJ. The plot was good as was the overall story. It dragged a little bit, but overall a good story. I recommend, although I didn't like the ending.

He was from Tennessee and he was an attorney. Maggie was a cake decorator and childhood friend of Fiona, the bride. Maggie and her sister Emily had formed Two Heart Catering two months before. Emily called Maggie away from Chad as the cake had been ruined. Maggie was the responsible and reliable half of the company. Emily was the creative cook.
