Review: Lure of Obsession

Image
Lure of Obsession by Lisa Kessler My rating: 5 of 5 stars Melany Jacoby, the Muse of Tragic Poetry, came home from work and found her roommate dead. Detective Nate Malone responded to a call about the death. From the moment he got there and met Melany, he wanted nothing more than to protect her. He also started seeing weird visions that might make her argument on how her roommate died believable. Being a fan of this author, I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. My love of Greek mythology being used by one of my favorite authors made this a must read. I was very happy that she didn’t disappoint. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. Following Nate as he learns about Melany’s world and what he’s meant to do kept me completely pulled in. I loved both main characters and can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review View all my reviews ...

Review: Winter's Path

Image
Winter's Path by Kelly Moran My rating: 4 of 5 stars Matt Holcomb and Jenny Winter have been best friends for a long time. Matt had always been the reliable one, the boy next door, until tragedy happened. Now he has a carefully constructed wall, determined to keep up at all costs. Unfortunately for him, after passion bursts between them, Jenny is exactly the one that could possibly destroy his walls. I didn’t read the first book in this series, so this was my first look at these characters, and right from the beginning, my heart bled for Matt. Like all of this author’s books, this was a great story. The characters go through so much in the story that you can’t help but cheer for them to find happiness. I loved both of the main characters as well as the plot. I can’t wait to read more from the author. I highly recommend. View all my reviews

Review: Summer's Wolf

Image
Summer's Wolf by Rebecca Royce My rating: 4 of 5 stars Three years ago, Summer Morrison found out that werewolves exist and that she was one of them. It was the beginning of the end of her life. On the same night, Cullen Murphy, pack assassin and protector, found out that Summer was his soul mate. At the request of her mother, Cullen leaves Summer alone, giving her time to finish maturing and accept her new live. Now tragedy has put them back together as they fight for the pack. This was a really good story. It was really quick and keeps your interest the entire time. Summer did a lot of quick growing and accepting throughout the course of the book. However, Cullen did his own growing throughout the book as he adjusts to having a soul mate after 300 years alone. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review View all my reviews

The World on a Plate: 40 Cuisines, 100 Recipes, and the Stories Behind Them by Mina Holland My rating: 5 of 5 stars The World On A Plate is a cookbook where the author shares her love of food as well as the world. Not only does she give you dishes from around the world, she gives you the stories behind them as well as cultural history of the different dishes. I think that anyone that has a passion for food will enjoy it. It was a really good book to read through. Review: A License to Wed: Rebellious Brides

Image
A License to Wed: Rebellious Brides by Diana Quincy My rating: 5 of 5 stars When Lady Elinor Dunsmore was a little girl, she swore she was going to marry Will Naismith, her brother’s best friend. Just before she’s to come out to society, they share a night of passion that will lead to a number of events that change their lives forever. This was a really good story. My heart cried at everything that happened because of assumptions and lack of communications. I really felt for everything Elinor, Will and her entire family had been through. I highly recommend. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review View all my reviews

Review: Beauty and the Highland Beast

Image
Beauty and the Highland Beast by Lecia Cornwall My rating: 5 of 5 stars Dair Sinclair was the chief’s son and clan favorite. When something horrible happens to him, he almost dies and starts to go crazy. His father desperately pulls in a number of mid-wives to try to help his son. When the latest one tells him that a virgin must be brought to the keep, he hurries to a neighboring clan where there are a number of females. Let me start by saying I think my favorite character is probably Fia’s father Donal! The few times we see in his head are absolutely hilarious. He really loves his daughters in a time when that wasn’t necessarily the case. Aside from Fia’s father, I really loved both Fia and Dair. My heart bled for both of them. They went through so much before even finding each other. The story itself was really good. I didn’t predict a number of the twists the author put in there. I highly recommend. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange fo...
